In relation to preserving heritage, one of its activities is carried out by the Greenways Management,
which has been promoting and boosting the Greenways Program at the national level since 1993, jointly
commissioned by the then Ministry of Public Works, Transport and the Environment, Renfe and Feve, creators
of this Program more than 30 years ago.
What do we do?
A lot of things! And we are organised as follows:Studies and Engineering Section
We are in charge of drafting identification studies, feasibility studies and construction projects commissioned by public administrations for the recovery of old railway routes as greenways.Since 1993, more than 100 studies and construction projects for greenways have been drafted. If you are an administration and you need an evaluated report, an identification, feasibility or construction study, do not hesitate. Contact us and we will advise you.
We also maintain timely institutional relations on technical issues with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Adif and other public entities involved in the development of these projects.
In addition, we manage a Geographic Information System regarding the old railways and greenways, permanently expanding and updating such content for our own information platforms and channels: websites, App, publications, etc., as well as external ones: Official Road Map of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Leisure and Nature Map of IGN-CNIG or the more recent national viewer of cycling routes implemented by MITMOS within the framework of the State Strategy for the Bicycle.
One of the latest lines of work that we are developing is the management of MITMOS grants for promoting the use of bicycles through investment in cycling infrastructure. Are you interested? Here you have more Info >>
