Gasolina Greenway

Information
A reclaimed green promenade that connects the Barajas and San Blas districts within Madrid.
This old railway branch, originally designed to transport fuel to the Barajas airport, is now a highly used urban bike lane by residents of these neighborhoods in Madrid. It is the result of a community effort that worked for the defense and recovery of this route to improve quality of life and mobility.
The surrounding area features a large green landscaped zone with trees, plazas, playgrounds for children and adults, walkways... and some surprises, such as a tunnel decorated with attractive murals.
This Greenway has been implemented by the City Council of Madrid.
