Gasolina Greenway

Information
A reclaimed green corridor linking Madrid’s Barajas and San Blas districts
This former railway spur, originally built to transport fuel to Barajas Airport, has been transformed into a well-used urban cycle path thanks to the determination of local residents who campaigned to recover the route as a means of improving quality of life and mobility.
Lining the greenway is an extensive landscaped park, shaded by trees and dotted with squares, children’s play areas, spaces for older residents, and pleasant promenades. There are even a few surprises along the way — such as a tunnel decorated with vibrant murals.
This Greenway was developed by Madrid City Council.
