A trip to one of Spain's most important industrial heritage sites by way of a section of the Fuente del Arco-Peñarroya-Puertollano narrow-gauge railway. 

This greenway begins in the municipal district of Fuente Obejuna, being linked by a path (please note that there are no signs) and continuing through the Cerca Industrial de Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo industrial area and the section known as "Vía Verde de La Maquinilla".

It passes by hundred-year-old mine shafts and opencast mines transformed into artificial lakes, which are followed by wooded meadows where Iberian pigs roam freely. It ends in Villanueva del Duque, a typical village of Los Pedroches Valley next to a station, Minas del Soldado, which has been converted into accommodation. 

NOTICE:

• The connecting road between Fuente Obejuna and Peñarroya - Pueblonuevo has no signs and has a certain degree of difficulty.
• The section between the municipal border of Belmez with Villanueva del Duque as far the junction with the Vereda de Puerto Rubio is being upgraded (MAPA).
• The section between the N-432 road and El Cerco de Peñarroya is being restored.

NOTICE: Hunting celebration on Saturday, 8 November, in the area around Cámaras Altas. For this reason, and as reported by the Belmez Town Council, the section between Cámaras Altas station and Villanueva del Duque will be closed. We apologise for any inconvenience.
