Fuso Greenway
History of the Railway
The line from Oviedo to Fuso La Reina was a branch of the main route operated by the Sociedad General de Ferrocarriles Vasco-Asturiana, built to metre gauge. This branch line linked the main railway to Oviedo, the capital of Asturias in northern Spain. Opened in part in 1904, it remained in service until 1999, when it was converted into a Greenway as part of the Cinturón Verde (“Green Belt”) urban development project.
