83 continuous km of the extinct La Val de Zafán railway, Puebla de Hijar to Tortosa line, have been upgraded as a greenway between the towns of Valdealgorfa in Teruel and Tortosa in Tarragona, in addition to another 18 km in the North Teruel region. A journey following crystal-clear watercourses as far as the great Ebro River through Teruel regions such as Matarraña and Catalonia’s Terra Alta and Baix Ebre regions, featuring spectacular scenery full of viaducts and tunnels. Protected nature reserves, history, culture and landscape in an exceptional route dotted with restored stations providing new services. This greenway is a must.

NOTICE (08/11/2024): as a result of the latest rains:

- The section of the Greenway that crosses the Matarraña region, from the Valjunquera station to the Arnes-Lledó station, is not in a suitable condition for traffic. After a survey of the area, it was found that the track is in very bad condition, with several points affected by large rocks falling, accumulation of mud and other damage. The Matarraña region is working to resolve the problem as soon as possible, but given the extent of the damage, it is not yet possible to give a timetable for the recovery of the section.
